

Willkommen auf der Website des Fördervereins Uni Kinshasa. Wir sind ein gemeinnütziger, eingetragener Verein, der sich den Wiederaufbau der Universität Kinshasa (Demokratische Republik Kongo) zum Ziel gesetzt hat.
Durch die vertraglich gesicherte Partnerschaft der Universität Würzburg mit der Universität Kinshasa (UNIKIN) und ein durch Spenden finanziertes Exzellenz-Stipendium möchten wir insbesondere fachlich erstklassige kongolesische Studenten in Ihrer Ausbildung fördern.
In this year the scholarships of the BEBUC system were distributed at six further congolese universities, so that currently eight universities in Kinshasa, Mbanza-Ngungu, Kikwit, Butembo, Bukavu and Goma take part in the scholarship system.
Additionally it was the first time for high-school pupils to get a scholarship. The early recognition and support of excellent high-school pupils is a promising approach to prevent children from poor families from dropping out of study.

The scholarship system BEBUC will be further extended with the aim to cover all universities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Up to know 34 students in Kinshasa and Butembo profit of BEBUC scholarships and the next step will be to integrate Lubumbashi and Kisangani in the program.

In August 2011, the members of the “Förderverein” met in Kinshasa. Beside new master scholarships, the first re-entry scholarship was given to Dr. Shetonde Oscar Mihigo. He studied first in Kinshasa (Bachelor) and later in Gaborone in Botswana. After accomplishing his PhD thesis, he came back to Kinshasa.

The selection of excellent students receiving BEBUC scholarships at the University of Kinshasa and the Graben University in Butembo has been successfully accomplished for this year and we are pleased to support 31 stipendiaries in the DR Congo. The selection took place in March and April 2011 in Kinshasa and Butembo.
